Title : Investigating The Relationship Between Smartphone Engagement And Sleep Quality Among Senior Secondary School Learners In Jaipur, Rajasthan: An Insightful Exploration

Abstract :

The proliferation of Smartphone usage has notably enhanced our daily lives, providing unmatched accessibility and interconnectivity. However, the addictive potential of smartphones raises significant concerns, manifesting in adverse physical, mental, and psychological effects on users. Jaipur, Rajasthan, this research targeted senior secondary students of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The study encompassed 300 participants, with a gender distribution of 170 males and 130 females. Statistical analysis was performed utilizing SPSS version 21, with the application of descriptive statistics and the Chi-Square Test for analytical insights. Average scores for the Smartphone Addiction Scale (27.98) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (6.89) were calculated, signifying a moderate level of smart phone addiction and marginal sleep quality within the group.

These findings highlight the widespread issue of digital addiction and its nuanced yet profound effect on the well-being of adolescents. The study underscores the critical need for cultivating self-awareness and enforcing regulatory measures to counteract the detrimental effects of smart phone addiction on sleep quality among senior secondary students. Customized intervention strategies, catering to the specific needs of this demographic, could prove pivotal in improving their health and well-being.
